Description

Applies to the fabrication or construction of wood, metal, fiberglass or plastic boats not exceeding 150 feet and to the repair and reconditioning of these vessels. Includes shop and yard work. Contemplates the manufacture of personal watercraft designed for one or two passengers and the construction or manufacture of metal floating docks. Refer to code 6801F for the construction or manufacture of wooden floating docks , code 3632 for risks engaged exclusively in the repair of inboard or outboard motors in a shop, and code 8380 for automobile repair shops that repair boat motors. Insureds whose principal or primary operations are that of carpentry, cabinetmaking, plumbing, electrical work etc. whose employees perform work aboard vessels would be assigned the appropriate classification of their trade.
