What it does

Like other ISO state "Changes" endorsements, CA 01 96 modifies the multistate commercial auto coverage forms where Texas law or Texas Department of Insurance requirements differ from the standard wording. The current Texas edition is 11 20. Texas also has separate amendatory forms for specific topics (for example, Texas Changes forms for cancellation and for Mexico coverage).

Who needs it

Every policy written on ISO commercial auto forms for a Texas risk carries the applicable Texas amendatory endorsements.

Selling notes

  • When comparing a Texas quote with a policy written in another state, read the Texas Changes endorsement: it can alter conditions and definitions that otherwise appear in the coverage form.
  • Texas UM/UIM (CA 21 09) and Texas PIP (CA 22 64) are separate endorsements with their own written-rejection requirements under the Texas Insurance Code.
  • Texas motor carriers also deal with state filing forms such as Form E, and ISO publishes a Texas Form F-1 endorsement (CA 23 36).
