What it does
CG 21 01 adds a Coverage A exclusion: for the operations described in the schedule, the insurance does not apply to "bodily injury" to any person arising out of practicing for or participating in any sports or athletic contest or exhibition that the named insured sponsors.
Who needs it
Sports organizations, youth and adult leagues, fitness businesses, tournaments, races and charity athletic events.
Key provisions and limits
- Applies even if the claim alleges negligent supervision, hiring, training or monitoring.
- Spectators and non-participants are not affected.
Quoting and selling notes
- Participant injury is the main loss source for these risks; offer participant accident coverage and review whether the league's national body provides participant liability.
- CG 40 03 is a broader version that applies to all contests or exhibitions.
