Applies to street or road construction contractors or specialist contractors engaged in asphalt surfacing, application of the initial adhesive and the surface spreading and rolling of the crushed aggregate. Also contemplates miscellaneous operations incidental to the maintenance of roads and contractors engaged in painting lines or stripes separating traffic lanes of street, road or highway. The following should be separately rated: clearing of right -of-way, earth or rock excavation, filling or grading, tunneling, bridge or culvert building, quarrying and stone crushing.
