What it does
CA 23 44 excludes coverage for a covered auto while it is used for public or livery passenger conveyance, such as transporting passengers for a fee through a transportation network company. Unlike CA 23 45, its title does not extend to on-demand delivery services. Its editions are 11 16 and 11 20; the 11 16 edition remains in Hawaii and the Virgin Islands.
Who sees it
Accounts where delivery is part of the insured's legitimate business (florists, pharmacies, restaurants) but the insurer does not want to cover drivers carrying passengers for hire.
