What it does

CR 07 30 adds a terrorism exclusion to the crime and fidelity coverage. ISO files a family of crime terrorism endorsements (CR 07 30, CR 07 31, CR 07 50 to CR 07 53), all revised to 06 22 editions, so that the crime part can be conformed to the federal Terrorism Risk Insurance Program and the insured's election.

Who needs it

Accounts that reject terrorism coverage offered under the federal program, where state rules permit an exclusion.

How it fits the policy

An exclusion endorsement narrows the base form; it is listed among the endorsements forming part of the policy on the declarations. Because exclusions are often attached by the underwriter rather than requested, check the forms schedule on every quote and renewal and explain any added exclusion to the insured. ISO's forms index lists the current edition for 49 jurisdictions, so confirm it is approved in the insured's state.

Quoting and selling notes

  • Terrorism-related crime loss is rare; most buyers accept the coverage offer if priced nominally.
  • Use the state-approved version; several states are not on the ISO list for this form.
